Twenty Questions for the Birthday Boy

It’s so hard to believe that Noah is four already!  It seems like just yesterday he looked like this:

And now he looks like this:

So with time moving so quickly, naturally I don’t want to forget a thing.  I started asking questions – lots of questions.  And I am going to ask them every year on Noah’s birthday so we can look back and remember what defined Noah that year.  Here it is – Twenty Questions for a four year old:

1. What is your favorite color? Blue
2. What is your favorite toy? Giant excavator with treads
3. What is your favorite fruit? Apple with no seeds
4. What is your favorite TV show? Team Umizoomi
5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Spaghetti O’s and soup
6. What is your favorite outfit? Thomas sweatshirt
7. What is your favorite game? Mr.Pencil saves Doodleburg (Leapster)
8. What is your favorite snack? Graham Crackers
9. What is your favorite animal? Elephant
10. What is your favorite song? One, two, three four (Christmas song from church)
11. What is your favorite book? Busy town…the white one and the blue one
12. Who is your best friend? Ella Rae and Alden and Hailey and Hannah and Sutty and Carly and Kelly and Kate…(I had to cut him off and explain the meaning of the word “BEST”)
13. What is your favorite cereal? Apple Jacks and Oatmeal
14. What is your favorite thing to do outside? Rake leaves and ride my bike
15. What is your favorite drink? Water and milk and juice boxes
16. What is your favorite holiday? Easter
17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? Train, digger, flashlight
18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? Scrambled eggs
19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? Tacos
20. What do you want to be when you grow up? Digger driver

Big Bro / Lil Bro

When Garrett was born, we got these cute shirts from Aunt Kim and Uncle Aaron.  How fun!

P.S.  I think they’re getting tired of me taking pictures all the time.  When Noah sits by Garrett now, he automatically says “CHEEEEESE”!

Garrett is the most determined little boy.  He is convinced that he can fit this ball in his mouth, and he’s not going to give up until he does:

Breakfast with Friends

At Christmastime, we put the cards we received on the pantry door so we could see them all.  Noah took cards from some friends and moved them to the oven door (his level) where he could sit and have breakfast with them!

Brotherly Love

Before school in the mornings, I turn on Curious George for Noah and Garrett while I pack Noah’s lunch.  It’s become a cute ritual, and Noah likes to hold Garrett’s hand while they watch TV. 

Let’s pray they always get along this nicely!

How Noah Rolls

As you can imagine, Noah was ecstatic about getting a new bike for Christmas!  He looks like such a big kid on it!!

Here we go!

Just a side note:  I noticed in the top picture you can see our “No Swiper” sign on the front door.  Noah used to love to watch Dora the Explorer.  Well, his imagination has gotten the best of him and he thinks Swiper the Fox is going to break into our house.  Hence, the “No Swiper” sign on the front door.  And no more Dora watching for us.  I can’t say she’ll be missed

For The Holidays You Can’t Beat Home Sweet Home

It was a little strange this year to have our Christmas celebration at home as it seems like we are often traveling for the holidays.  With Garrett being so young, we needed to keep him somewhat isolated, and so Christmas in Hoschton was the plan! Bonus: you can wear your PJs all day! And we are forever grateful for the inventor of Skype!

You may remember that Noah asked Santa for a “giant excavator”.  As it turns out, Noah was on the NICE list and got what he asked for!!

For Christmas, Noah also asked for a bike with a HORN! Why do kids never ask for quiet toys??  Anyway, he unwrapped the horn, and we asked him to go find what it went with…it was cute because he went to get his little tricycle:

Earlier in December, Noah thought you just get ONE present on Christmas. We explained that he is very blessed with so many generous family members that he will likely get more than one present, and that’s another thing to be thankful for (hanging onto our Thanksgiving lesson).  Well, he was so excited to open more gifts while I stopped to take this next video of Garrett, you would have thought it was, well, Christmas!

Noah got a very cool Spiderman costume from Aunt Marge – he pulled up a chair so he could see himself in the hall mirror.  And if you Skyped with us on Christmas Day (or following), you have seen Noah in this costume!

Garrett on his play mat – Noah put all Garrett’s new toys around him.  He doesn’t know what to look at first!

On Christmas Eve, for the first time EVER, Noah decided to let us know it was time to go to bed.  He put on his favorite PJs, got a tray and gathered the things he needed to leave for Santa.

   Noah saw on TV that Santa prefers chocolate milk so he convinced Daddy to buy it for this special occasion  

And if Santa likes chocolate milk, I’m sure he would like jalapeno poppers and pizza rolls, too!

He can’t decide if Santa likes white or green, so he gets both!
