Noah got to go to a birthday party this week for his little friend, Sophia. He was so excited that her theme was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and a lot of his friends were there. But he was most excited that she had a bike he could ride!
Noah enjoying a cupcake with the birthday girl
He stuffed the whole thing in his mouth so he could go back to riding the bike
He didn’t seem to mind that it was pink
For the craft, Noah helped fill the cups with glue for the other kids
Noah made a snow scene and then went back to riding the bike.
Thanks, Sophia, for a fun party! Hope you had a Happy Second Birthday!
We never thought it would happen, but we actually got a white Christmas in Atlanta (the first since the 1880s!). While it was too wet to play in on Christmas day, we woke up the next day to a winter wonderland! Noah and Daddy had great fun playing in the white stuff while Mommy took down the Christmas decorations.
Daddy and Noah’s snowman
Uh oh! I think he got knocked over!
This year for Christmas, we hosted the meal at our house. We had Prime Rib, Creamy Fried Confetti Corn and Rosemary Potato Gratin. I think it turned out pretty yummy, but the best part was having family in our home on Christmas. Everyone was able to come except Grandpops and Aunt Marge who were celebrating together in Milwaukee. It was a beautiful day.
Noah is showing Uncle Jeffer how his garbage truck works.
There was a lot of laughing…
…And a lot of eating!
The potato gratin was YUMMY!

What a nice looking couple!
Merry Christmas from our home to yours!
…And a Happy New Year, too!
Noah was wide awake at 6 AM on Christmas morning and ready to see if Santa did, indeed, think he had been a good boy this year. He wondered if the reindeer ate the pickle he left for them or maybe Santa did after he finished the cookies.
Santa brought me a GARBAGE TRUCK TOY, just like I asked!
This is how it works, Daddy…
Santa also put together my Mega Bloks set!
Then we opened our other presents…
Wow – all 3 Toy Story movies from Aunt Marge!
Noah got Tidmouth Shed (Thomas’ roundhouse for his train) from Grandpa Phil
(He LOVES this – more on this later…)
What a fun start to our Christmas Day!
On Christmas Eve, we went to Aunt Gigi and Uncle Jeff’s house for dinner, presents and good company. Noah had a ball!

Noah was running laps around Gigi and Jeff’s house. Aunt Connie played the flagman and told Noah when he needed to slow down.
Uh oh! Caution!
Noah invited Alex to play, too!
After the racing, we had a delicious dinner of traditional fare in the Fons family: Ham and Polish Sausage (and Lamb Chops). Noah was more excited, however, at the prospect of opening presents. He helped carry the presents.
Of course he picks the bag with Thomas on it to carry downstairs!
Noah handed each present to Uncle Jimmy so he could find out where it should be delivered
(Noah only got distracted from his job a couple of times)
A high five from his crew chief – Good job, Noah!
Noah got a Thomas apron from Grandma Nancy!
He couldn’t unwrap this one fast enough when he saw it was a Thomas & Friends Mega Bloks train set
(160 pieces to be assembled by Mommy!)
Merry Christmas, everyone!
On Christmas Eve, Noah wanted to hurry to bed so Santa could come visit. He chose his favorite moose PJs to wear, we wrote a letter and set out some snacks for Santa before heading to bed.

Being very careful to not spill it
Is he in there?
Daddy, tell Santa I’ve been a good boy all year, please!
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill towards men."
Merry Christmas from the Fons Family
When it came time to make Christmas cookies, my little helper was BIG FUN! I loved watching Noah, with wide-eyed excitement, help me do things that used to seem mundane — like creaming butter or sifting flour.
My little helper and his big apron
Creaming the butter and sugar together, he was SO careful
Adding the egg yolk
…and some vanilla
I had to add this…I was snapping so many pictures of Noah that he grabbed my camera when I wasn’t looking and took a picture of me. I didn’t notice until I uploaded the pictures. Silly boy!
Some of our finished cookies :)
They were so much fun to make, we almost couldn’t eat them – ALMOST!
One of the highlights of our trip for Noah was seeing Cooper, the dog. Noah loves to play with her while she’s in her ‘apartment’, and on this visit he wanted to check out her apartment for himself.
Noah gave Cooper a snow globe to look at.
“Hey, this is pretty cozy!”
I think Cooper was a little confused: “Why is he giving me a treat and I’m on the outside?!”
On Saturday, Noah’s cousin, Alex, graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing. We are so proud of her!
“Congratulations, cousin Alex!!”
