HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NOAH!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NOAH!
The jig is up. I thought I was outsmarting Noah by buying a backup “lovey” before his first lovey became tattered. He accepted the new lovey without too much complaint. I planned to swap them out from time to time to keep either from turning to shreds. When I was doing laundry on Thursday, he discovered the old lovey! Whoops!

Hey! There's another lovey!

They look pretty similar

What an observant little boy!
Noah is enjoying his out of town visitors who have come to see him for his birthday. His grandparents Fons are here from Milwaukee, WI. His Aunt Connie and Cousin Alex are here from Charlotte, NC. Boy, is Noah getting spoiled!

Aunt Connie is so much fun!

Hi Grandma!

Reading a book with Grandma
It’s funny how kids enjoy the simplest things. He loves this soup bowl from Grandma Nancy:

What's at the bottom?

What is this paper on a roll?

Busted!
The next day he figured out how to get the roll off the wall, and he was walking around carrying a roll of toilet paper…maybe for his runny nose?
On Monday, Jill and I took Noah to the McDonald Playground (yucky winter weather!). He almost made it up the little slide himself (just needed a little boost), and then he tried to dive down the slide. Once we showed him to go down on his bottom, he went down by himself! What a brave little boy!

Going up

King of the mountain!

Uh oh...wrong way!!

Really, Mom, I can do it myself!

There we go!

Noah is going to take his Grandma Nancy and Grandpops to play at McDonald’s when they come in town this week – more fun!
On Monday at “Mommy and Me”, we celebrated the upcoming birthdays in the group. 3 of the little ones are turning one! Ella Rae and Easton both wore the crowns Ms. Nancy made for them, while Noah had a different opinion:

Why am I wearing this?
Noah did love playing with the rhythm sticks, though:

As you can see from the runny nose and the droopy eyes, Noah wasn’t feeling quite himself. Now he has a full-fledged cold
We hope he feels better by the time his birthday party rolls around!
Thanks to guest blogger Aunt Kim we didn’t get any harrassing phone calls about a blank blog on Monday…we’re not naming names, but you know who you are! Yes, we had a snafu with our laptop, and our old laptop has seen its last blog post. Well a guardian angel was watching over me because I uploaded and printed the last 150 pictures I had to bring me up to the present on Saturday night. Sunday morning the computer wasn’t working. At first I thought it was just on strike, but after 2 hours on the phone with Charles at HP, I accepted the fact that the proverbial fat lady was singing – the hard drive was shot! 4 years of pictures – GONE! Charles politely asked me, “Well, I’m sure you backed everything up, right?” Well, sure I meant to, but I never quite got around to it. After purchasing a new laptop on Sunday afternoon and trying to get it up and running, I discovered that I had backed everything up (well at least my pictures) without even knowing it. Today I was able to recover 4000 pictures that I had put on my iPod!
While I was able to recover the pictures, there are a million and one other things on there that I won’t be able to get back. So, please, please, please – if you don’t back up your stuff now, please look into it!
I leave you with a newly-recovered picture of Noah from his early days:

Hello to all of you out there in Noah’s blog world.
This is Noah’s Aunt Kim checking in from chilly, snowy Columbus, Ohio. Kelly asked me to submit her blog post for her today. Noah broke the laptop! Just kidding. The Fons laptop has seen better days and Kelly, Greg & Noah are out shopping for a new one as I post this message. So, what do I write about? On my blog, I typically write about food, gluten-free food, to be more specific. I am not used to this wider variety of subjects to choose from! What fun! I know! I think I will show you some of my favorite pictures from Noah’s first year. And, what perfect timing as our little prince is turning 1 this coming week!

This Uncle Aaron…Noah wasn’t sure what he thought of him:

And, for good measure, here is Kelly and I trying to Indian Wrestle (not really sure what that means, but Kelly taught me when they were up here in August).

So, I hope that I haven’t bored you all to tears.
Hopefully the Fons family has acquired a new laptop and Kelly can resume blogging tomorrow. If not, maybe I’ll share a yummy recipe or 2! Hope you all have a nice week!
After visiting Ohio for the holidays, I can sometimes get homesick, wishing we lived closer to family. And then I am swiftly brought back to reality with a day like today. Friday afternoon the temperature was 68 and not a cloud in the sky!! Noah and I spent a good part of the afternoon at the playground, playing and watching other kids play. With those cold temperatures last week, we were starting to get cabin fever, so this was a very welcome surprise!
Noah had been missing the swings…Hello, old friend!
Exploring…
Noah found a tunnel!
Noah figured out how to turn around inside the tunnel…
Surprised by a gust of wind…
Mom, can I climb this??
And back to the swings…Noah was tired from all the playing!
